Deanne Mott was recently hired by Tri-County Special Education Association to serve as Student Support Coordinator for Mt. Pulaski schools.
Deanne’s instructional journey began in the classrooms of MPCUSD #23 as a substitute teacher and tutor in 1997. She went on to full-time classroom work at the high school and college levels. Over time, she moved into full-time academic advising and success coaching within higher education. While completing this work, she continued to teach courses in communication and life skills. It was also during this time that Deanne served for nine years as a school board member.
Deanne has a Masters degree in Interpersonal Communication from the University of Illinois Springfield and has obtained multiple certifications including Mental Health First Aid. Her husband, Ryan, began his law enforcement career with the Mt. Pulaski Police Department and is now a Master Sergeant with the Illinois State Police. They have been married for over 28 years and have five children, four of whom were active students in the Mt Pulaski school district and one who worked for the district. As young adults, one child is an over the road truck driver, one is a recent college graduate with a business degree, another is a Trooper for the Missouri State Highway Patrol, and two are currently enrolled in college pursuing degrees in education and the health professions respectively.
Deanne’s commitment to the Mount Pulaski school district has taken many forms over the years but she feels the best is yet to come. She is grateful and excited to begin a new chapter in this student-centered role for Tri-County Special Education Association and Mt. Pulaski schools. WELCOME, Deanne!!
