Mt. Pulaski CUSD #23 is an awesome place to work! We have an amazing staff and amazing students. We are always looking for positive individuals to join our team as substitute teachers. If you are interested in being a substitute teacher at MPCUSD #23, you must hold a current license. If you don't have a license, use the following information to determine if you hold the credentials to acquire one:
- Short-Term Substitute Teacher License (STS) - You must have an Associate’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution of higher education or show completion of 60 semester hours of college coursework. This type of license is valid for 5 years only and is not renewable. Also, Short Term Substitute teachers cannot teach more than 5 consecutive days per licensed teacher.
- Substitute Teacher License (SUB) - You must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution of higher education. This type of license is valid for 5 years and is renewable.
- If you already hold a Teaching License (PEL) you DO NOT need to apply for a Substitute Teacher License and you can skip to step #3 on this website.
- If you hold a Paraprofessional License and have a bachelor’s degree on file with ROE#17, you are qualified to be a substitute teacher and DO NOT need to apply for a Substitute License in ELIS; however, you MUST complete the substitute authorization process by completing the steps that are applicable on this website (you can skip to step #3).
We look forward to adding some new faces to our team! If you have questions, please contact a building principal.
