With the vacancy created by the resignation of Chris Brown from the school board, Mt. Pulaski CUSD 23 once again completed the process of finding a replacement Board member. The Board is pleased to introduce its newest member, Dezaray Brookshire!

Dezaray Brookshire resides in Elkhart with her husband, Ryan, their son, Rhett (6), and their 3 dogs. Dezaray was born and raised in Mattoon, Illinois, and moved to the Springfield area to complete her degree in Early Childhood Education where she was the director of a childcare program for many years. The Brookshire family has lived in the Mt. Pulaski School District since 2017 where Rhett attends kindergarten.

Dezaray currently works as a Developmental Therapist for Early Intervention working with children birth-three in Logan County. She also works part time for Illinois Directors/Owners of Childcare Centers (ILDOCC) advocating for better policies and legislation for childcare, young children, and families. Outside of work, Dezaray enjoys camping, reading, and spending time with her family.

Dezaray is honored to be joining the school board to serve the community and is passionate about ensuring quality education for all students.
