Spang Family

Dear Mt. Pulaski CUSD 23 School Community,

I am Jason Spang, and I wanted to introduce myself as your new Superintendent of Schools. I consider being appointed to this role an honor and privilege. My wife Lauren and I have five beautiful children and recently purchased a home within the district boundaries in Elkhart.

The Mt. Pulaski School District has earned a reputation for academic excellence, providing vast opportunities for students to express individuality. As an educator for 18 years, I wholeheartedly value the programs and services school districts offer their students. I am committed to building upon Mt. Pulaski’s foundation, within and beyond the classroom, for students of all age levels to ensure that current and future students can explore their interests to find their true passions.

In addition to the robust educational programs the district offers its students, the level of community pride and involvement drew my family to this district. Growing up in the Decatur area, I witnessed a sense of pride and tenacity in competing against Mt. Pulaski students. These are values my wife and I have always admired and sought in the upbringing of our children. These qualities were apparent during the entire interview process and are evident in the board members, faculty members, parents, students, and residents we have had the pleasure to meet in our transition back to central Illinois. Please know that my goal is to make every effort to foster and cultivate excellence in all that we do to ensure the continued success of our students, schools, and community.

As your Superintendent of Schools, I am committed to maintaining open lines of communication with all stakeholders. I value your input and encourage you to share any questions, comments, or concerns about our schools that you may have. I look forward to our future conversations.

It is an exciting time for the Mt. Pulaski School District, and I’m looking forward to the years ahead. Please accept my best wishes for a happy and healthy summer.

Sincerely,

Jason Spang

Superintendent of Schools
