Good Morning Hilltoppers!
I am sure many of you have had the opportunity to preview the guidelines for starting school later this summer. The staffs of Mt. Pulaski Grade School and High School have already taken steps to prepare for the return of your students to school as well as the potential for more remote learning. Each school has a Building Leadership Team which includes building principals and a representative group of teachers who have tackled the task of how we can bring our students back into our buildings.
Now that the Illinois Department of Public Health and Illinois State Board of Education have released formal guidelines, we will work to develop a district plan for the start of our school year. While extra precautions will be necessary, it is our goal to create a normal and recognizable environment for our students and staff when school begins September 8th.
We are aware there may be varying opinions about what is right and proper during these trying times and we respect everyone’s individual right to have these opinions. Our district will develop back to school plans that keep our students, staff and community safe by following directives handed down by state officials.
The diligence Illinois citizens have displayed throughout the pandemic have allowed us to greatly reduce health risks across the state. I believe this success gives our community a great foundation to begin the upcoming school year.
