Nutrition class tried their hands at making apple swan garnishes today. They had some struggles, but everyone ended up with a swan of some sort.

Spanish 3 students were introduced to the Mexican flavors of: chorizo, queso fresco, and cilantro today! Enjoyed making breakfast burritos & arroz con leche (rice pudding). 😍
Nutrition Class made Rosemary Roasted Chicken and Potatoes today. They did an awesome job and made some great food!
First year Spanish students put their language and acting skills together today, as they re-enacted a chapter from their novel. A fun way to study the language & culture of Colombia!🌴🦋🌸🌞☔️☕️⚽️🦜
Some of the FCCLA members took time to prepare and speak to the 8th graders about FACS classes and FCCLA at their preview assembly today. They did an awesome job!
Nutrition class made pan broiled hamburgers and air fryer french fries. Everyone agreed that the milkshakes we made last week would be a good addition. Perhaps families should ask their students to give it a try at home.
The Lady Toppers first sectional game will be at Blue Ridge High School in Farmer City, on Tuesday, 2/22/22, at 6:00 PM. This is called Semifinal #1 in the ticketing app. Per IHSA guidelines, all ticket sales will be digital through GoFan (link below). No cash accepted at the gate! All fans must have a digital ticket on their cellular device to enter.

Tonight’s boys basketball game is a part of an IHSA Tournament; therefore, all spectators are required to pay a gate fee. Students do not get in free. It is a flat gate fee of $5 per person for the Regional games.
Doors open at 5:15 PM tonight. Game begins at 6 PM.

The Parent Council meeting scheduled for tonight at 6:30 PM will be in the Learning Center. Due to the 8th grade IESA State Tournament game being moved to tonight, parents attending the meeting will need to enter the building at the northeast door on Cooke Street. Parents should park on Cooke Street.
This door will automatically unlock at 6:20 PM until 6:45 PM for the meeting.

Spanish 1 students are knee deep in a unit on Colombia.
The timing of the recent movie release Encanto was PERFECTO! All levels enjoyed the movie and creating their own magical gift rooms.
First year students are also reading their second novel titled Peter Va a Colombia. And they enjoyed creating their own interpretations of the first chapter and sharing them with classmates.
Recently, Andres, a previous Costa Rica exchange student, visited classes. He has since been a good virtual resource as well: giving us lessons and showing us his typical breakfast foods. It’s been a great relationship!
