I had to say goodbye today to Olivia Cooper. She completed 44 hours of observation with me and now she is ready to move on to her next adventure in her Teacher Education program at Millikin University.

8th hour Study Hall participated in the School’s mock election today and received smiley face stickers!

Today’s student council held a mock election. Mr. Clark helped us set up an electoral college system which each study hall had a set number of votes depending on its population. President Trump carried nine study halls while Vice-President Biden won in two rooms. Thank you to Mr. Clark and to everyone who voted!

Hello and Happy Fall from the Library part of the Media Center. The books are available to be checked out. Mrs. Koehler sent her English classes to check out books last week and today. Happy Reading!

Our MPHS office staff always goes above and beyond, but especially on Halloween!

English I group work...

Our new collaboration rooms are perfect for small groups!

English I is enjoying spreading out in the new media center for group work.

Today we got the last section of our lumber storage shelves built, making the new storage room complete. There were a lot of Industrial Arts students that had a hand in building them, and their help is greatly appreciated! The new storage cabinets also look great and have allowed us to get everything organized. It’s very exciting to see it all come together!

MPHS is planning to go trick-or-treating for canned goods again this year. Help out if you "can"!

It has taken some doing and creative movement with the COVID restrictions, but we are finally cooking in Nutrition class! Sadly, the students have to wait until they get home to eat anything. The word coming back to me is that everything is delicious!

Today, this student was able to finish up his project from last spring after our semester was cut short. I’m so glad we’ve been able to get back in the shop to get it done. Nice work!

I’ve been very impressed with the Metals & Welding class this semester. Not only have they shown a great amount of skill, but also an eagerness to improve each day we’ve been to able to work in the shop.

Mark your calendar for this year's Halloween Movie Double Feature!
It will take place Friday 10/30 at 7:00 PM. We're planning to project our movies onto the shed behind the school this year, so dress warmly and bring a lawnchair (and maybe a pile of blankets!). There is no cost for this event.
Student council will be choosing the movies tomorrow, and we will announce them next week.
Since we must limit our event to 50 students, we do ask that you sign up in the office to receive a ticket.

Students, start planning your costumes for this year's costume contest! Categories include scariest, funniest, group, inflatables, character/historical figure, impression, and best overall. Send a photo of you (or you and your group) to me by Tuesday 10/27 since our contest will be virtual this year. Plan on wearing your costume to school on Friday 10/30 whether you enter the contest or not!
