In honor of music in our school's month, our staff at Mount Pulaski Grade School shared how music is/was a part of their lives. Our last two staff members that we will highlight today is Mrs. Parker, who is our music teacher and Mr. Pluhm who is our band director. Mrs. Parker participated in marching band, concert band, pep band, jazz band, and choir in high school and college. She listens to all kinds of music and her favorite radio station is 106.5 the arch. Mrs. Parker got to meet Canadian Brass when they performed at the St. Louis Symphony Concert Hall and met an original cast member in Bring It On Musical when they performed at the Fabulous Fox in St. Louis along with a tour of the venue. Mrs. Parker does know how to play the band instruments at the beginning level but wishes she could have taken more lessons in piano and guitar in music class. Mr. Pluhm participated in many band and choir programs in high school and college. His favorite music is pop, 80’s and jazz music with his favorite radio station being WBNQ. Mr. Pluhm got to meet the bass trombonist of the Chicao Symphony Orchestra, Charlie Vernon, and performs with the Lincoln Area Music Society and Mount Pulaski Band. A fun fact about Mr. Pluhm is that he is always singing songs in his head. Whether it's singing, playing an instrument or listening to music, make music a part of your life today.

In honor of music in our school's month, our staff at Mount Pulaski Grade School shared how music is/was a part of their lives. Our two staff members that we would like to highlight today are Mrs. Lindley who teaches special education and Mrs. Hagen who is a paraprofessional. Mrs. Lindley sang in her high school choir, high school musicals and has participated in her church choir. She enjoys listening to all kinds of music with her favorite being alternative, indie, rock, and classical. Mrs. Lindley likes to listen to music on apple music or pandora. If Mrs. Lindley could learn anything in music, it would be to learn about new types of music. Mrs. Hagen played the clarinet in her high school marching and pep band. Her favorite types of music are country, rock, pop, and rhythm and blues. Mrs. Hagen likes to listen to music on 103.7 and 97.7. She prefers to listen to music over watching TV and is interested in learning about different genres of music. Whether it's singing, playing an instrument or listening to music, make music a part of your life today.

In honor of music in our school's month, our staff at Mount Pulaski Grade School shared how music is/was a part of their lives. Our staff member we would like to highlight today is Mrs. Wahls who teaches junior high english language arts. Mrs. Wahls sang in the choir in middle school and high school. She played saxophone in grade school and middle school. Mrs. Wahls likes to listen to country music and a little pop music. Her favorite radio station is 97.3. Mrs. Wahls has attended country music festivals in Chicago and loves to listen to live performances. If Mrs. Wahls could learn anything in music, it would be to relearn how to read music. Whether it's singing, playing an instrument or listening to music, make music a part of your life today.

In honor of music in our school's month, our staff at Mount Pulaski Grade School shared how music is/was a part of their lives. Our two staff members we would like to highlight today are Mrs. Reinhart who is a paraprofessional and Mrs. Varvel who is the grade school counselor. Mrs. Reinhart sang and played clarinet in highschool. She enjoys all genres of music but really enjoys 80s and 90s music. Mrs. Reinhart's favorite radio station is 98.7. If Mrs. Reinhart could learn anything in music, it would be to play the fiddle. Mrs. Varvel likes to listen to all kinds of music except for jazz and listens to her music on apple music. If she could do anything in music class, it would be to dance so she can get in shape and take singing lessons. Whether it's singing, playing an instrument or listening to music, make music a part of your life today.
