
In music, Ms. Read's class learn a song game called "Snail, Snail" and brought home a show me sheet in which they drew what the song made them think of. Mr. Siebert's class made their own bucket drumming rhythms.

In ELA class, 7th graders have been focusing on analyzing figurative language, plot, and characterization to prepare for future writing pieces. Classmates worked together to escape the abandoned house by solving the encrypted code!

We had a visitor at recess today.


Honeybear Basketball is about to begin! We will have some open gym sessions from 3:30 - 4:30 in the Multipurpose Room at MPHS from Monday through Thursday this week. All interested 5th - 8th grade participants should bring a water bottle and wear their basketball or PE shoes. Our first official practice will be held on Tuesday, September 6th. All current softball athletes that also want to play basketball are excused until their season has concluded. Experiment Day!





Choir had some awards passed out today for choir-lympics and meme contest. For note names on choir-lympics, Charity Woodford got first place, Lily Woodworth got second place and Alexis Bishop got third place. For solfege on choir-lympics, Charity Woodford got first place, Kya Matson got second place, and Alexis Bishop got third place. For the meme contest, junior high teachers chose their favorite school related meme and choir related meme. Charity Woodford and Kya Matson won for best school related meme and Kendra Stewart won for best choir meme.


The Spring Concert is at the high school on Tuesday, May 17, at 6:30 PM. Doors will open at 6:00 PM. The event is in the Multipurpose Gym. All spectators should park in the west lot and enter at the "Gym Entrance."

2nd graders made their own rainy rhythms using quarter notes, eighth notes, sixteenth notes, and quarter rests.
