Honeybear Basketball starts this week! Parents of any 5th - 8th grade Honeybear will need to attend our mandatory Parent Meeting on Tuesday, August 31st at 5:30 in the MPGS Gym. Our first two practice sessions will be held in the multipurpose room at MPHS from 6:00 - 7:15 on Wednesday (9/1) and Thursday (9/2). All participants will need a mask, have a water bottle, and wear their PE shoes. All current softball athletes that also want to play basketball are excused until their season has concluded. YMCA Childcare Survey - Before & After School Care Elkhart Christian Church is working in partnership with the Lincoln Area YMCA to explore the possibility of bringing childcare to the Elkhart community. The purpose of this survey is to gather information from the community on how many students would utilize before and after school childcare at a licensed location in Elkhart. The Lincoln Area YMCA before and after school program is currently serving children in grades K-5. There is an annual registration fee for the childcare program, which will also grant your family a YMCA membership. Weekly fees will vary based on your childcare needs, with rates ranging from roughly $30/week for before school care only, to roughly $80/week for before and after school care for 5 days/week (per child). Program options include: before school care only, after school care only, both before & after school care, with 3 days/week or 5 days/week options. The boys jr. high baseball game for today @ LJHS has been cancelled. The girls jr. high softball game for today @ Illini-Central has been cancelled.

Please remember to send a water bottle with your student each day. The refill stations are open, but the water fountains are not.

We are starting the year off in masks, so please help us by conversing with your student about wearing the mask properly (covering the nose and mouth) while inside of the school building and while on school transportation. Thank you!

There will be no softball tryouts, practice begins July 26th at Frazier Park.

Baseball Tryouts are for boys in grades 6th -8th grade. on August 2nd, 3rd, and 4th from 9:30 - 12:00 at Veterans Park. After the three days of tryouts, we will break practices up into separate A and B team practices, from 9:00-10:30 and then 11:00 - 12:30. Players must have a current physical on file in order to participate.

Physical Education for 5th-8th grade will not be doing school issued PE shirts this year. We will hold that off for one more year. Teachers will discuss PE dress code the first week of school for those students.
