
In honor of music in our school's month, our staff at Mount Pulaski Grade School shared how music is/was a part of their lives. Our two staff members we will be highlighting today are Miss. Read who teaches 1B and Mrs. Tschantz who is our district bookkeeper. Miss. Read played the clarinet in her high school marching, concert, and pep band. Her favorite kind of music is country and she enjoys going to musicals. A fun fact about Miss. Read is that she has been a cast member in plays. Mrs. Tschantz enjoys listening to country and pop music. Her favorite radio station is 104.5 and if she could learn anything in music class, Mrs. Tschantz would like to learn about pop songs. Whether it's singing, playing an instrument or listening to music, make music a part of your life today.



Volleyball send off for our 8th grade Honeybears heading to State @ 1:30 at the grade school! They will play today at 4:30 at Auburn High School. Let’s Go Honeybears!

Congratulations to all of the choir students who participated in Logan County Music Yesterday on March 17! There were four choirs or 75 students from Logan County who sang six songs at this event.

In honor of music in our school's month, our staff at Mount Pulaski Grade School shared how music is/was a part of their lives. Our staff member we are highlighting today is Mrs. Farris who is the unit office secretary. Mrs. Farris enjoys different kinds of music and likes to listen to music from NPR and apple music. She did play the flute in 4th-8th grade and does enjoy singing. Mrs. Farris loves to go to concerts, has seen the Avett brothers 9 times, and has seen Jason Isbell four times. If she could learn anything in music, Mrs. Farris would be interested in learning how to read music. A fun fact about Mrs. Farris said that her father is a very talented singer and auditioned for Julliard. Whether it's singing, playing an instrument or listening to music, make music a part of your life today.

Our staff member we are highlighting today is Mrs. Elliott who is our title teacher. Mrs. Elliott was involved in her high school marching band, concert band, jazz band and participated in two musicals along with her church’s choir. She also took lessons in ballroom, swing, jazz, salsa, and country line dancing. Mrs. Elliott enjoys all kinds of music and listens to different radio stations. She likes to attend concerts and wishes she could be involved in band and choir now but doesn’t have the time. A fun fact about Mrs. Elliott is that she was a DJ in college and she can play the flute/piccolo. Whether it's singing, playing an instrument or listening to music, make music a part of your life today.


In honor of music in our school's month, our staff at Mount Pulaski Grade School shared how music is/was a part of their lives. Our staff member we are highlighting today is Mrs. Bone who teaches 2B. Mrs. Bone did four years of girls, mixed, and show choir in high school. She also played alto saxophone in her high school concert, pep, jazz, and marching band in high school and two years in her college marching band. Mrs. Bone's favorite radio station is WCIC and enjoys listening to christian rock, 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s music. She has played in the bell choir at church and watches the marching band perform at her kids football games. Our staff members we would like to highlight today are Mrs. Ciaccio who teaches 4B and Mrs. Mendenhall who is our instructional coach at the grade school. Mrs. Ciaccio sang, played clarinet, and was a cheerleader in highschool. She enjoys listening to pop music and has played piano for ten years. Mrs. Mendenhall enjoys listening to all types of music and switches radio stations so she hears the songs she likes to listen to. Mrs. Mendenhall got to meet musician Montell Jordan at a Chick-Fil-A in high school and got his autograph. She did play piano growing up, played flute in middle school and enjoys watching bands/concerts in the summer. A fun fact about Mrs. Mendenhall is that she loves music and has it playing all the time. Whether it's singing, playing an instrument or listening to music, make music a part of your life today.

Mrs. Burgard was in her high school choir and played clarinet in junior high school. She loves to listen to county, americana, alternative country, and southern rock music. Her favorite radio station is the highway on sirius xm. Mrs. Burgard likes to attend county concerts and would like to learn how to play guitar in music class. Mrs. G was in her high school choir for four years. She likes to listen to a little bit of everything and her favorite radio station is 98.7. If Mrs. G could learn anything in music class, it would be how to write music. Whether it's singing, playing an instrument or listening to music, make music a part of your life today.

Our two staff members that we would like to highlight today are Mrs. Beccue who teaches junior high special education and Ms. Tarrant who teaches junior high math. Mrs. Beccue did glee club at Sacred Heart-Griffin, performed with a singing group in high school called “Ensemble,” and had piano lessons for seven years. She enjoys listening to all types of music and her favorite radio station is 98.7. If Mrs. Beccue could learn anything in music, it would be to play the violin. Ms. Tarrant enjoys listening to all types of music and prefers radio stations that have older songs on them. If she could learn anything in music class, it would be to play piano. Whether it's singing, playing an instrument or listening to music, make music a part of your life today.

Our two staff members that we would like to highlight today are Mrs. Baer who teaches junior high science and Mrs. Z who is our title aide. Mrs. Baer likes to listen to country or christian music. Her favorite radio stations are WCIC and WFMB. She got to meet Easton Corbin before a concert and loves to attend country concerts at county fairs and music festivals. If Mrs. Baer could learn anything in music class, it would be to play the guitar and how to sing. Mrs. Z played clarinet both in high school and college. She enjoys listening to all kinds of music except for hard rock and rap. Mrs. Z’s favorite radio station is WCIC and is interested in re taking piano lessons. She has attended concerts at the Fox in St.Louis and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. Whether it's singing, playing an instrument or listening to music, make music a part of your life today.



Our junior high track and field season is quickly approaching and any 5th - 8th grade boy or girl who loves to run, throw, or jump can participate! 7th graders in ELA honed into their problem solving skills today in a "Choose Your Own Path" island expedition! Students worked in groups to justify all their decisions and make the right choices in order to "survive!" They had a blast today, and we will continue our lesson tomorrow in learning about the teenage castaways who survived 15 months on Ata Island in the South Pacific. We are preparing for expository writing in ELA with a focus on problem/solution.
